Merel Pechtold is a socially engaged Honours student intending to develop her curriculum and skills to fit a future work environment that is internationally focused, personally challenging, and contributing to a better world. At University College Maastricht (UCM), her interdisciplinary studies center around International Relations and Cultural Studies. Her passion lies where these two fields overlap, namely in the topics of discrimination and social exclusion. Her interest in both policy-making and education, and how both of these relate to and influence day-to-day discriminatory practices, brought her to participate as one of CELL's Young Researchers.
