On January 15th, CELL, in partnership with UNESCO and the Georg Eckert Institute (GEI) for International Textbook Research, organized a high-level workshop to examine the state-of-the-art on narrating violent pasts in education. Approximately 35 delegates from research, policy, and practice attended the workshop as well as 14 youth participants, comprising undergraduate researchers and high school students studying the representation of violent pasts in history textbooks. The workshop received support from USAID's Education in Conflict and Crisis Network (ECCN). Below is a detailed program of the event. A video and workshop report is forthcoming.
